Panola County Baptist Association is comprised of 29 Southern Baptist Congregations voluntarily cooperating together to be on mission in their local settings. The Association is a non-profit faith based entity and is located at 634 Hwy 51 North, Batesville, MS.
PCBA was founded in 1921 with only a handful of churches. Since that time it has grown to 26 congregations including one church plant and one Hispanic mission. The association employs a full time Associational Missions Director and an Office Administrative Assistant. The Association is goverened by an Executive Committee made up of the Pastor and an elected member from each of the churches. There are four quarterly Executive Committee meetings a year. The Assocation (all the churches and messengers) meet two times a year, once in the Spring and once in the Fall. It is the purpose of the Assocation to promote cooperation among like faith churches and to participate together in global missions as well as statewide and county wide ministry events. The Assocation works closely with churches to further develop and conduct Sunday School, Discipleship Training, Bible Drills, and Vacation Bible School. Men's Ministry in each church is encouraged through quarterly rallies. The Womens Missionary Union on the Association level exists to help the ladies in their church pray for, contribute to, and participate in the missionary enterprise. Our Motto is "Helping to reach the world and Mississippi for Jesus."
Suppose you were standing before God right now and He asked you, “Why should I let you into my heaven?” What do you think you would say?
The Bible says in 1 John 5:13 “These things have I written unto you…that you may know that you have eternal life."
So, How can you know that you have eternal life?
1. Admit you are a sinner.
“All have sinned and come short of the glory of God” (Romans3:23)
What is sin?
Because we sin-
We are separated from God
We deserve to be punished
The Bible says, “the wages of sin is death…” (Romans 6:23)
But God loves you, does not want you to be separated so He did something for you...
He sent His son-
"For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten son that whosoever believes on Him shall not perish but have everlasting life.” (John 3:16)
Jesus died for you-
“For Christ dies for sins once for all, the righteous for the unrighteous, to bring you to God He was put to death in the body but made alive in the spirit.” (1 Peter 3:18)
And you can be free of your sin and its punishment.
“Repent therefore and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out.” (Acts3:19)
"...but the gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus.” (Romans 6:23)
2. Believe in Jesus Christ
To believe in Christ means that you know He is God's Son, He died on the cross to forgive your sins, He rose from the dead and you wish for Him to forgive your sins. Read John 3:16 again
3. Confess Jesus as your Savior and Lord
To confess means to ask Jesus to become your Savior and Lord and to forgive you of your sins.
“That if you confess with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.” (Romans 10:9)
Now ask Christ Jesus to be your Savior and Lord.
Thank you for sending Jesus to die on the cross for me so my sin can be forgiven. Thank you that He rose from the dead and is alive. I know that I am a sinner and that my sin separates me from You. Please forgive my sin. I ask Jesus to come into my life and be my Savior and Lord. I want to make wise choices and live the way You want me to.
